LIT Announces Expansion with Hardin County Campus

Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) announces a northern expansion of the college with the addition of the LIT Hardin County Campus. Located on Highway 96 in Silsbee, the facility will serve as the new home for the utility line technology program, the developing automotive collision repair technology program, workforce and continuing education and additional LIT courses.

“LIT has had a longstanding presence in Hardin County through the Frank Robinson Center and our dual credit partners,” Dr. Sid Valentine, LIT president, said. “We are excited to officially plant our flag and expand the access to higher education in this community.”

The facility spans nearly 24,200 square feet and sits on 25 acres of land. The space will include a pole yard, classrooms, office spaces and automotive bays with room for future expansion.

“We have strong partnerships throughout the county and are looking forward to further developing our offerings to fit the workforce needs of the region,” Valentine said. “Surrounded by local dealerships, I could not think of a better place to start our automotive collision repair technology program. Utility line has been a staple here since 2008, and this move allows us to expand the opportunities within this program”.
