Inaugural Cohort of the LIT Nursing Program Achieves 100% First-Time Pass Rate on NCLEX-RN Exam

The inaugural cohort of the Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) nursing program achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) exam.
The 20 graduates of the cohort who participated in the 16-month associate degree nursing program have not only passed their exam but have all secured employment as registered nurses.
“This inaugural class embraced a rigorous curriculum that required extraordinary commitment, sacrifice and resilience,” said Misty Jones, Program Director of Nursing. “This achievement reflects what is possible when dedicated students, committed faculty and strong healthcare partners come together with a shared purpose.”
Jones says the success of the graduates extends beyond the classroom and will continue to have positive impacts on the community.
“While we celebrate these remarkable milestones, our greatest measure of success is knowing that our graduates are now making a difference in the lives of patients and families throughout our communities,” Jones said. “This is only the beginning and we look forward to continuing our mission of preparing outstanding nurses who will positively impact healthcare for years to come.”
Applications for the next available cohort will begin on January 1, 2027. Registration for the Fall 2026 semester is ongoing. The deadline to register online is August 21, 2026.
