Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) Provost/Vice President of Instruction and Student Services Dr. Angela Hill and Occupational Safety and Health adjunct instructor Eduardo Leija were honored with the Leaders of Industry Award by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Southeast Texas Foundation at the annual Diamond Awards for Excellence on June 4, 2026.

The Leaders of Industry Award is given to those who have a record of leading with integrity and display a high moral character.

“Being recognized as a 2026 Leader in Industry by the BBB Southeast Texas Foundation and RT Technical Solutions is both humbling and rewarding,” said Dr. Angela Hill. “This honor is especially meaningful and reflects the impact of leadership and a shared commitment to student and community success. I’m proud to represent a college committed to transforming lives through education.”

This award is also a recognition of those who make an impact and contribution to the industrial sector of our region.

“This recognition means a lot to me, especially coming from where I started,” said Eduardo Leija. “Teaching at LIT is one way I give back to the industry and community that has been more than good to me, while I continue working full-time at Port Arthur LNG. I am thankful to be a part of LIT.”

This recognition also underscores the impactful work taking place at LIT to serve students and the community.

“The recognition highlights the important work happening at LIT every day to empower students, strengthen our workforce, and create lasting impact throughout Southeast Texas,” said Dr. Angela Hill. “I have the pleasure of working and collaborating with exceptional faculty, staff, industry partners, and community leaders whose dedication makes this work possible.”
