Deloris Savoy named LIT's December Employee of the Month

Deloris Savoy, Lamar Institute of Technology’s Coordinator of Advising and Recruitment, was recently selected Employee of the Month for December.

Employees of the Month are now nominated by their peers--other LIT staff and faculty members—then, finally selected by President Lonnie L. Howard. Savoy was nominated by EMS Program Clinical Coordinator Clint Vannoy.

With her upbeat, cheerful attitude and smiling face, Savoy can be seen around the campus or on location at area schools looking to help potential and current students achieve their academic goals.

“She is one of the first faces you see when looking to register and trying to start the process of enrolling in higher education. She is always bright-eyed and very welcoming for nervous new students,” Vannoy said.

Savoy was ecstatic to learn about her selection for the award. “I’m very grateful and appreciative of this opportunity to be recognized by Dr. Howard and my peers,” she said. “I’m so happy to be a part of the LIT family.”
