Sexual Misconduct Policy

 The Texas State University System and Lamar Institute of Technology(LIT) are committed to maintaining and educational environment free from all forms of sex discrimination. Lamar Institute of Technology does not discriminate on the basis of race, color national or ethic origin, gender, disability, religion, veteran status or age its programs and activities  to provide equal access to all applicants, faculty, staff and students.  

Sexual misconduct is a form of sex discrimination and will not be tolerated.  LIT will maintain an environment that promotes prompt reporting of all types of sexual misconduct as well as a timely and fair resolution of sexual misconduct complaints.  LIT will take prompt and appropriate action to eliminate sexual misconduct, prevent the recurrence and remedy the effects. 

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities. Sexual harassment of students or employees, which includes acts of sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX.
