Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) will host a career fair for current students and alumni at the Paul and Connie Szuch Multipurpose Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 22, 2026.

Approximately 50 employers are set to participate in the career fair including Indovinya, Golden Pass LNG, City of Beaumont, United Rentals and Turner Industries.

“Building relationships with a variety of prospective employers is a priority in order to best support the success of LIT students and graduates,” said Jennifer Chambers, Coordinator of Career Services. “As a college that serves an array of career pathways, LIT strives to provide opportunities for students from all programs to connect with employers, explore career options and transition successfully into the workforce.”

To maximize their success at the career fair, students and alumni should bring multiple copies of their current resume and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.

“Employers may ask questions about work experience, coursework, technical competencies and transferable skills,” said Chambers. “Candidates should be ready to confidently discuss their educational and professional backgrounds, highlight their strengths and demonstrate the value they can bring to an organization.”

These opportunities also highlight the strong partnerships between LIT and industry leaders, many of whom return to campus year after year to connect with emerging talent.

“Many participating employers have long-standing relationships with LIT, including alumni who recognize the quality of education and workforce preparation our students receive,” said Chambers. “As a result, employers continue to recruit at LIT because of our proven track record of developing highly qualified graduates who become valuable contributors to their organization. We are proud of this legacy and remain committed to strengthening the workforce and supporting the success of our students, alumni and industry partners.”

LIT is still accepting industry booth reservations. For more information or to reserve a booth, contact Jennifer Chambers at jchambers3@lit.edu or 409-242-2047.
