Lamar Institute Technology (LIT) Foundation invites the community to a holiday tree lighting, sponsored by Entergy, from 5 to 7 p.m. on December 2. The event will be held in the quad area located in front of the Cecil Beeson Building, 855 E. Lavaca.

In addition to a tree lighting ceremony, guests can write letters and take a photo with Santa, decorate holiday crafts and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Entertainment will feature a choir presentation from Charlton-Pollard and Pietzsch-MacArthur elementary students, and carolers from the Southeast Texas Stages cast of "A Christmas Carol."

Online bidding for a silent wreath auction, benefitting student scholarships, will begin November 30 and close at the conclusion of the tree lighting. All wreaths are uniquely designed by LIT employees and can be viewed in person at the event.
