Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) will host a career fair for current students and alumni from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the Paul and Connie Szuch Multi-Purpose Center.

Over 20 local employers including Indorama Ventures, City of Beaumont, and Acadian Ambulance will be in attendance to connect students and alumni with potential employers, allowing them to explore job prospects, internships, and networking opportunities within their field of study. The event is sponsored by industry partner Quanta Services.

"We are hoping to create a platform for students to engage with industry professionals, learn about various companies, and potentially secure employment or internship opportunities relevant to their technical education," said Charles Gunner, Manager of Career Services.

In addition, the Career Services Department will be offering resume reviews and information on current trends and demands in their respective fields.

"I suggest that all attendees prepare a polished resume, dress professionally, practice a brief elevator pitch, ask thoughtful questions and make time to actively engage with potential employers," said Gunner. "This will be a great opportunity for current and former students to build contacts and potentially secure employment in a field relevant to their education."
