Students will be equipped with the expertise to work on modern vehicles that are smarter, more efficient and more advanced than ever before.

Key components of the curriculum include:

  • Comprehensive training in engine systems, transmissions, brakes, suspension and electrical components

Graduates will be prepared for roles such as:

  • Automotive Service Technician
  • Diagnostic Technician

The program was developed in close collaboration with regional dealerships and industry partners, ensuring students graduate ready to meet employer expectations and fill critical workforce gaps in Southeast Texas and beyond.

To support this new program, LIT began renovation on a 10,000-square-foot warehouse at the Tommy Williams Complex Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The upgraded facility will feature more than 6,000 square feet of lab space, complete with vehicle lifts, an alignment rack, two instructional classrooms and four administrative offices. The renovation aligns with the college’s commitment to delivering relevant, high-quality technical training that meets the needs of today’s workforce.
