ACT Workkeys Exams for Utility Line Technology Students

Prior to enrolling in the LIT Utility Line Technician Program (taught in Silsbee, TX at the Frank Robinson Center (FRC)), each student must take the 
WorkKeys® Workplace Documents Assessment
Applied Math
Assessment.

Each computerized exam is a 55 minutes. Scores are available immediately. The required score is 4 for both exams.

For additional information on the exam or to register for an exam call the LIT Testing Center at 409-241-9701 or 409-247-4978, email testingcenter@lit.edu or visit Eagles' Nest Building Room 115 to set up an appointment. Payment must be made before the exam is administered.

During the summer, the Frank Robinson Center (FRC) in Silsbee, TX can administer the WorkKeys test. Please call 409-245-8346 for appointments. Payments will be accepted there on the day of the appointment. 

If you need accommodations for the exam, these must be requested well in advance of the test date with Special Populations staff in Student Services at 409-951-5708, via email
specialpopulations@lit.edu or visit at Eagles' Nest Building Room 123. If approved, they will coordinate with Testing. Appointments should not be made until you have provided the Testing Coordinator your accommodations letter. Appointments made are subject to be cancelled and rescheduled if accommodations are requested after an appointment is made.

Testing Procedure
  • Make an appointment for either LIT Beaumont or Frank Robinson Center (FRC) in Silsbee.
  • If testing in Beaumont, go to the Cashier windows in the Beeson Building on the Lamar Institute of Technology campus.
  • Fill out the neon pink deposit slip and pay the cashier $17 for each test/$34 for both
  • Take the payment receipt and pink form to the LIT Testing Center in Eagles' Nest Building Room 115
  • If testing at FRC, the payment will be collected there.
  • Present valid government issued ID with photo and signature.
