Human Resources
Family Medical Leave (FMLA)
The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitles eligible employees of Lamar Institue of Technology to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.
Workers' Compensation
The Workers’ Compensation Act covers on-the-job injuries that occur in the course and scope of employment and that result in damage or harm to the body. It also covers occupational diseases directly caused by exposure in the workplace.
Faculty/Staff Course Enrollment
The Employee Education and Training Plan ("the Plan") provides employees of Lamar Institute of Technology with assistance in obtaining additional college-level education and training to increase their value to the Institute.
Lamar Institute of Technology Tuition Assistance Program (LITTAP)
LITTAP is designed and intended to provide tuition assistance of 100% of resident tuition to a spouse and/or eligible dependent children of full-time Lamar Institute of Technology employees.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
LIT offers employees FREE, CONFIDENTIAL access to an EAP. The EAP covers up to six (6) counseling sessions per year, per issue; financial and legal assistance; life "concierge" services; and other online tools and resources to enhance our employees' careers and lives.
