The Accounting Technology AAS program prepares students for careers as accounting paraprofessionals in business, industry, government or public accounting. Students receive instruction in accounting concepts, computerized accounting, payroll accounting, tax accounting, managerial accounting and spreadsheets for accounting.

Learn about accounting concepts such as the accounting cycle, ledgers, financial statements, budgeting and tax accounting. You will also learn about general business practices and how to use spreadsheets and databases in accounting.

What can I do with this Degree

This two-year Associate program is designed to provide you with the accounting, computer and business knowledge needed for accounting positions in both the private and public business sectors. Principles addressed are applicable to sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations, as well as to service, merchandising and manufacturing firms.

Degree Requirements

The Accounting Technology program is 60 semester credit hours and includes general education courses (such as writing, mathematics and speech) and technical courses (accounting, small business, economics and computer applications).

You must earn a grade of "C" or better in all recommended program of study courses. Any Accounting Technology student who does not must repeat the course.
