Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree
The Lamar Institute of Technology EMS Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
PARAMEDIC PROGRAM GOAL:
As an Accredited Program, we strive to prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.
PARAMEDIC PROGRAM STUDENT OUTCOMES:
CAAHEP Accredited Paramedic Programs track and report outcome measures annually to the Committee on Accreditation for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
The most recent CoAEMSP Annual Report is for the calendar year 2022.
Upon completion of the paramedic program, the student is eligible to sit for the NREMT Certification Examination.

The positive placement rate, as defined by CAAHEP based on graduates of the paramedic program who are reporting working in either a full-time or part-time position as a paramedic within twelve months of graduation, continuing their education, or serving in the military.
