The Department of Technology offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree and a Certificate of Completion in Commercial and Residential Construction. The goal of the program is to produce a graduate who has the requisite skills to be employed in local construction businesses. Students can expect to learn blueprint reading, estimating, tools, techniques, construction methods, construction materials, construction techniques and management. Students will also learn mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, building codes and inspections, and computer-aided construction scheduling.
Student attend classes at Lamar Institute of Technology and an off campus location, The Associated General Contractors (AGC) Construction Facility.
