LIT records highest Spring enrollment

BEAUMONT – Lamar Institute of Technology has an increase of more than 7 percent in enrollment for the Spring 2014 semester.

As of the 20th class day, LIT has 2,893 students enrolled. That is 205 students than the same point in time in Spring 2013. This is LIT’s highest recorded enrollment for a Spring semester.

There is an increase in students in the Department of Technology, which houses the Instrumentation Technology, Process Operating Technology, Computer Drafting Technology and Welding Technology programs.

The enrollment increase can be traced to the predicted growth in Southeast Texas industry.

Emergency Medical Services, Homeland Security, Computer Networking and Troubleshooting Technology and pre-Radiologic Technology are also showing an increase in enrollment.

Prospective students can continue to apply and register for LIT’s Spring 3 Semester, which will begin March 5. For more information, call (409) 880-8321.
