Lamar Institute of Technology has fall commencement on Dec. 15

BEAUMONT – Lamar Institute of Technology will award more than 270 degrees and certificates at its Fall 2011 commencement ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 15.
The event will be at 7 p.m. at the Montagne Center. Michael Truncale will be the commencement speaker.
Truncale was a regent for The Texas State University System from 2007-2010. He is a senior partner of Orgain Bell & Tucker, LLP in Beaumont and The Woodlands, and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the College of the State Bar, and the Defense Research Institute.
Truncale is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a certified mediator in the United States District Courts in the Eastern District of Texas and in all state courts.
He is active in many civic and cultural organizations, some of which include the Jefferson County Bar Association, the Symphony of Southeast Texas and the Beaumont Heritage Society.
Truncale earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lamar University, an MBA in banking and finance from the University of North Texas, and a doctor of jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
He is married to Denise Holland Truncale, and they have two daughters.
