LIT will graduate almost 400 in May commencement

BEAUMONT – Lamar Institute of Technology will graduate almost 400 students in its May 2011 commencement ceremony on May 12.

The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. in the Montagne Center.

Jefferson County Judge Jeff R. Branick will be the commencement speaker.

Judge Branick is a graduate of Lamar University and Baylor University School of Law. After graduation, he began working at Provost & Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont, and became a partner in the firm in 1986.

In 1998, Judge Branick left the law firm to open his own practice, and in 2007, he became attorney to the Jefferson County judge. He was elected as judge in 2010, and was sworn in to the office in January 2011.
