BEAUMONT – The Texas State University System Foundation has established the Edmund P. Kuempel Scholarship Program.
The program will provide financial assistance to worthy and deserving students, to encourage academic excellence, and to recognize student leadership and achievements. Students in any undergraduate degree program at any Texas State University System component may receive financial assistance to help complete their degrees.
Applicants must be a student at, or be accepted for admission to, Lamar Institute of Technology; be enrolled in a course of study which results in an academic degree; have satisfactorily completed 12 hours of course work at an accredited institution with a GPA of at least 3.5. (If accomplished at a non-TSUS school, completed coursework must be transferable to the TSUS institution.); submit a short essay (no longer than one page, double-spaced) with a statement of the candidate’s goals and reasons for pursuing the degree; must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the state of Texas; and must not have received this scholarship previously.
A copy of the student’s FAFSA information must also accompany the essay and basic information.
Deadline for the scholarship is Friday, March 28, 2014, at 5 p.m. Applications and essays may be hand-delivered to the Office of Development, LIT Cecil Beeson Building, Room 205, or mailed to Office of Development, Lamar Institute of Technology, P.O. Box 10085, Beaumont, Texas 77710.
