Melissa Armentor

Melissa has been with LIT since August 1991. She taught in the Radiologic Technology program for 22 years and was the Clinical Coordinator for eight years. In 2012 Melissa served as the interim Department Chairs in General Education and Developmental Studies and in Technology. Melissa has been Dean of Instruction for three years and wrote the Quality Enhancement Plan that focuses on student success.

Melissa is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership. She earned her master’s degree, her bachelor’s degree and her associate degree from Lamar University.



David P. Mosley

David has been with LIT since 1998, overseeing Workforce Education, Marketing, Institutional Effectiveness, Grants, Online Learning, and the newly created Teaching and Learning Center. David has served as LIT’s representative on numerous Statewide, Texas State University System (TSUS), and institutional committees.

David also teaches the College Success Skills Course.

David graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems.



Bonnie Albright

Chief Business and Finance Officer

Bonnie has been with LIT for 18 years, overseeing Finance, Facilities, Food Services and IT and established LIT’s accounting, cashiering, and payroll areas. Bonnie recently oversaw construction of the $15.7 million replacement building.

Bonnie graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelors in Business Administration in Accounting.



Sherry Kilgore

Sherry is starting her second year as Staff Senate President. Sherry is the Administrative Associate Senior in the Business Technology department and has been with LIT 7 years.

Sherry earned her associate degree in academic studies from Lamar State College-Port Arthur and is pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in General Studies with emphasis in business and criminal justice from Tarleton State University.

Sherry is the first recipient of the President’s Unsung Hero award.



Ira Wilsker

Faculty Senate (President)

Ira is an Associate Professor of Management having been at LIT for 40 years teaching business law, contract law, constitutional law, cyber security, cyber terrorism, business management, law enforcement, corrections, computers, sociology, and math.

Ira is also a Jefferson County deputy sheriff who presents nationally and internationally on Community Oriented Policing, and Cyber Crime. Ira was a speaker on computer crimes at the International Conference on Police Sciences, and has been called to perform computer forensics on numerous occasions. He is also a long time member of the High Tech Crime Consortium.

Ira earned his MBA from the University of Maryland, and is a graduate of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Academy.

Joanne Brown

Executive Director Development/Foundation

Joanne has worked closely with non-profits and businesses since 1993. She has served on the advisory board for Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital; the finance committee of Catholic Charities, and as vice chair of administration for the Symphony of Southeast Texas.

Joanne is a former president of the Junior League of Beaumont where she oversaw the development of the Southeast Texas Family Resource Center, raising $1.2 million. She also served as the marketing and development chair of the board of Monsignor Kelly High School.

Joanne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Lamar University.
