BEAUMONT – Lamar Institute of Technology will celebrate Black History Month with a program from 9-11 a.m. on Feb. 24 in the Multi-Purpose Center.
Tracie Payne, owner of CUSH magazine, Inc., will speak on the topic of black economic empowerment.
The Koumankele African Dance & Drum Ensemble will perform and Star Award recipients from each department at LIT will be announced. The Star Awards honor outstanding African-American LIT graduates who have achieved success in their areas of study.
